Method
- Make the ice hand the day before. Fill the food safe glove with water or white grape juice, tie the wrist shut tightly with a rubber band, lay it flat on a sheet pan, and freeze overnight until solid.
- Chill the pineapple juice, white grape juice, and lemon lime soda for at least 4 hours or overnight. Cold liquids keep the sherbet foam at its best.
- Pour the pineapple juice and white grape juice into a large punch bowl or cauldron and stir to combine. Add 3 to 4 drops of green food coloring and stir until the color is even.
- Just before guests arrive, slowly pour the lemon lime soda down the side of the bowl to protect the fizz.
- Add 5 to 6 big scoops of lime sherbet with an ice cream scoop. Let the scoops float on the surface. They will foam up within a minute.
- Run the frozen glove under warm water for a few seconds, peel the glove away, and float the ice hand in the center of the punch.
- Drape gummy worms over the rim of the bowl and scatter gummy eyeballs across the foam. Ladle into cups and serve right away.
Notes
Add the soda and sherbet at the last minute. Fizz and foam fade if the punch sits too long.
Color swaps with the same method: purple potion uses grape juice and grape sherbet; blood red brew uses cranberry juice and raspberry sherbet; pumpkin potion uses orange juice and orange sherbet.
Adult upgrade: keep the base alcohol free and let adults add their own splash of vodka, white rum, or prosecco to their glass.
Dry ice safety: never touch dry ice with bare hands, never put it in a drinking glass, and never let children handle it.
