Method
Steep the lemon balm. Place the lemon balm leaves in a cup and pour in 1 cup of hot water. Let the leaves steep for 10 minutes so the herb releases its flavor into the water.
Grate the ginger. While the tea steeps, grate about 1 inch of fresh ginger.
Strain the tea. Strain out the leaves and pour the tea into a glass. Add the grated ginger and stir well.
Add the lemon juice. Squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon and stir.
Sweeten with honey. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw honey if you like a sweeter taste. Stir until it dissolves.
Serve. Mix everything well and drink it warm. For iced tea, chill it in the fridge until cold.
Notes
- Use 1 tablespoon of dried leaves or 2 tablespoons of fresh leaves per cup. Fresh leaves give a brighter lemon aroma.
- Drink it daily as part of a balanced diet and an active lifestyle.
- Honey adds most of the calories. Use less honey, or skip it, for a lighter drink.
- This tea supports a healthy routine but does not burn fat on its own. It works best as a swap for sugary drinks.
- Check with a doctor before using lemon balm regularly if you are pregnant, take thyroid medication, or take sedatives.
